The importance of the Military

(newsnm.com 9/1/11)

Recent surveys reflect that the youth of this nation have an unfavorable opinion of military service and those who served.  Schools taught this generation global citizenship instead of national sovereignty.  Prominent universities have banned ROTC from their campuses and professors increasingly disparage our military and those who serve in it.  This attitude is also reflective of many supporters of the Obama Administration.

His administration threatened not to pay military personnel during the recent budget crisis and structured future automatic budget cuts to the military if the Congressional “Super Committee” cannot reach an agreement.   The military is not the cause of our budget problems.  Unfortunately, these same government officials did not recommend suspending the pay and benefits for members of Congress or the White House staff.  Nor did they suggest defunding those non-essential government agencies such as the dysfunctional Department of Energy, Department of Education or the job killing Environmental Protection Agency.

We have a Congress where few have ever performed any military service and yet they are the ones that make policy decisions that send our military into harm’s way.  The security of this nation has been maintained by the US military since the beginning of our history.  The military has remained apolitical and has traditionally been restricted from displaying political signs, bumper stickers, or engaging in any political activity while in uniform or on military installations.  This Administration and segments of society seem bent on destroying the power and prestige of our military services and view them all with contempt.

As many of you know I avidly oppose the United Nations Agenda 21 and its sustainable development policies.  The United Nations Conference on Environment & Development was adopted at Rio de Janerio’s Earth Summit in June 1992 but it has never been ratified by the US Congress.   We also know that President Clinton signed an Executive Order in 1993 to administratively implement the provisions of Agenda 21 by executive fiat.  A policy repeated by President Obama.

On March 19, 2011 President Obama announced in a White House Press Release that he reaffirmed it was imperative to move toward sustainable development and that he was fully committed to establishing an international world order.   He created the White House Rural Council for Sustainable Development on June 9, 2011 and extended government control over every aspect of rural America.

Its stated purpose was to coordinate Federal programs and maximize the impact of Federal investment to promote economic prosperity and quality of life in our rural communities.  It also will coordinate federally directed growth and development and facilitate economic opportunities associated with energy development, outdoor recreation and other conservation related activities.  All objectives and policies right out of Agenda 21.

Why do I mention that?  Perhaps it is because this United Nations program also calls for all governments to self-fund the implementation of Agenda 21.  According to section 33.16 (g) of Agenda 21 one of the methods is “the reallocation of resources at present committed to military purposes”.  One of the criteria for worldwide implementation of UN Agenda 21 is to dismantle or neutralize a nation’s military.  President Obama’s actions and announcements clearly demonstrate his support of this global agenda.  His policies implementing components of this UN program attempt to weaken our military diminish our national sovereignty and forfeit our constitutional rights.

President Obama and our youth admire global citizenship over national sovereignty and see the military as a threat to this UN vision and want to denigrate and eliminate it.  Thankfully, our military is committed to preserving our Constitution rather than Obama’s quest for an international world order.

Stop and Thank a Veteran, if you think you shouldn't then you need to get your #$$ out of this country!

What Happened To Our Military

This came from a Marines wife. It says it all:

                      109931f.jpg

I sat, as did millions of other Americans, and watched as the government under went a peaceful transition of power a couple years ago..

At first, I felt a swell of pride and patriotism while  Barack Obama took his oath in office..

109932e.jpg

However, all that pride quickly vanished as I later watched

21 Marines,

In full dress uniform with rifles,

Fire a 21-gun salute to the President.

It was then that I realized how far  America 's military had deteriorated.

Every one of them missed the bastard.

Economy Fix 101

WHEN THERE ARE ANSWERS TO PROBLEMS  THAT PLAQUE OUR GREAT NATION, WHY CANT THESE SUGGESTIONS BE TRIED.  IT WOULD PROBABLY WORK.

WHY THE NEED FOR OUR POLITICIANS TO GO BEHIND CLOSED DOORS AT 2 AM IN THE MORNING AND THEN ANNOUNCE GTE NEXT DAY THAT  "  THEY" HAVE DECIDED TO DO THIS OR THAT TO ALL OF US.  THAT COULD NOT POUR WATER OUT OF A BOOT WITHOUT THE DIRECTIONS ON THE BOTTOM,  WHAT MAKES THEM THINK THEY HAVE THE INTELLIGENCE TO SOLVE THIS HIDEOUS MESS THEY HAVE ALL GOTTEN OUR GREAT NATION IN.

HOW SIMPLE IS  1 + 1  = 2 IS?

BEST THING I HAVE HEARD YET.....From a senior citizen around 80 yrs. Of age. We aren't useless yet.

The Fix

There recently was an article in the St. Petersburg , Fl. Times. The Business Section asked readers for ideas on: "How Would You Fix the Economy?" I think this guy nailed it!

Mr. Obama,

Please find below my suggestion for fixing America 's economy. Instead of giving billions of dollars to companies that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan.

You can call it the "Patriotic Retirement Plan":

There are about 40 million people over 50 in the work force. Pay them $1 million apiece severance for early retirement with the following stipulations:

1) They MUST retire. Forty million job openings - Unemployment fixed.

2) They MUST buy a new AMERICAN Car. Forty million cars ordered - Auto Industry fixed.

3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage - Housing Crisis fixed.

It can't get any easier than that!!

P.S. If more money is needed, have all members in Congress pay their taxes..

Obama, while you're at it, make Congress retire on Social Security and Medicare. I'll bet both programs would be fixed pronto!

If you think this would work, please forward to everyone you know..

If not, please disregard.

How to rescue the housing market: Foreclosures!

If the Obama administration really wants to save the housing market, it should speed up the foreclosure process -- not prolong the inevitable, experts say.

Military Retirement Pay, It Needs To Be Protected

Military retirement: 83-percent never make it

This column explains why the current military retirement system is an incredibly good deal for the U.S. taxpayer and why the Obama Administration’s proposal to change it would defeat the currently successful reenlistment and retention rates for our volunteer armed forces. (Fair disclosure: the author served 20 years on active duty and is retired at half pay.)

Shortly after entering active duty, yours truly asked a seasoned personnel officer: “Why is my base pay only $222.22 per month when so many of my college classmates who went into civilian life are making twice or three times that?” What follows is a reconstruction of that conversation:

“Lieutenant, your low pay is because the military system is ‘deferred compensation,’ meaning you do not have to pay anything upfront toward retirement which will be ‘vested’ if you complete 20 years of active-duty service. So, we are ‘deferring’ your pay for you to draw later as retirement. If you make it through 20 years, you get half-pay for life and almost-free medical care. But if you do not complete 20 years of service, you don’t get any retirement. Nada, zip, zero.”

“Well, what could I expect to happen during the next 20 years?”

“Lieutenant, as an infantry officer, you can expect to live abroad for about ten years, much of it in disease-ridden, third-world countries you would never ever want to visit on vacation. You will be moved 15 to 20 times. You can expect your household goods to be lost at least once. Off and on, you can expect to be separated from wife and family for about six years. You can expect to be wounded at least once. Or, killed. But that only happens once.

“After you reach about 10 years of service and you are at a point when you are most valuable to the military, you can expect the civilian bean-counters in the Pentagon to try to find ways of getting rid of you short of the 20 years you need to draw retirement. Do not give them any reasons to do that. If you get hurt, shake it off. Don’t report it. The bean counters don’t want retirees with medical problems. Also, the military has an “up or out” policy. Go to graduate school at night and on weekends to stay competitive with your peers. Do not give them an excuse to throw you throw out short of 20 years.”

“Okay, of all the second lieutenants who came on active duty this year, what percent of us will make to 20 years?”

“Out of your year-group, about six-percent of you will make it, meaning the USA will never have to pay a dime in retirement to 94-percent of you. It is a cruel deal for those who don’t make 20 years; however, it is a sweetheart deal for the U.S. taxpayer. For the troops who do make 20 years, they will have played ‘you-bet-the-best-years-of-your-life,’ and won.”

Returning to 2011: Today, due mainly to better battle-field care, 17-percent of the force is making it to the 20-year retirement mark. Even so, 83-percent who have served will never see a dime of their pay that was “deferred” for their retirement.

To make the system more “fair,” the Obama Administration proposes to “vest” a reduced amount of retired pay at 10 years of service. Guess what many of those with ten years of service and facing almost certain assignment or reassignment to Afghanistan or Iraq will do? Answer: Take a reduced retirement and leave military service.

In 1986, Congress reduced military retirement by 20-percent, undermining retention and readiness so badly that by 1990 Congress had to reverse itself. Predictably, the proposed Obama scheme will devastate retention rates while, at the same time, destroying a system that is more than “fair” to the taxpayers.

Comment:

And that is also true of the Tricare fees and Pharmacy copays of military retirees.

People who mess with them will also devastate retention rates and also enlistment rates because of the influence that military retirees have on potential enlistees…surprisingly, some people with memory and customer satisfaction deficiency are stuck on dumb including select members of Congress….

Water Damage 101

http://bit.ly/nXQ1YM

Water damage can come from a variety of sources: storms, flooding, broken water pipes and lines, leaking washing machines, and more. This can lead to mold and odor problems, and worse. If left unmitigated, water damage can eventually cause structural damage, which can entail significant costs to repair and can even affect a home's value.

Prevention is the first defense against water damage. Here are some basics on preventing water damage and its effects:

  • Water supply lines to and from washing machines and dishwashers should be regularly checked for leaks. Both the hoses themselves and the connections should be examined. Even a small leak can cause water damage over time, so any leaks should be repaired immediately. If the laundry room is located on the main floor or above, damage to the floor and ceiling below can be especially problematic.

  • Tank-style water heaters are prone to leaking, especially after several years of use. Over time, the bottom of the tank can rust out, causing a serious leak. Ideally, an overflow valve should be installed that will conduct leaking water to a pipe that will drain either outside or to an appropriate interior drain.

  • Another common source of water leaks is the icemaker supply line; this should be checked as well.

  • Be aware that pipe leakage can occur inside the walls or ceiling and may be impossible to detect visually before damage has already occurred.

  • Gutters and downspouts should be checked to ensure that water is flowing away from the home's foundation. Make any adjustments, and check the flow again using water from a garden hose.

  • Water leak detectors can be installed at floor level near water heaters and interior air conditioning units. Simple, inexpensive wireless models are widely available and will sound an alarm when water is detected on the floor near these appliances.

The Real Truth, Not The Democrats So Called Truth Is That The Rich Are Keeping The U.S. Going

i read an article in the paper a few days ago and I thought it factual as well as interesting enough to pass on.

The truth of the matter is that the hated “rich” are keeping up the nation. According to the IRS, from 132 million individual returns filed in 2005, the “RICH”, top 1 percent (1.3 million returns), making over $364,000, paid $368 billion in personal taxes. The botto, 90 percent (about 120 million returns) only paid $277 billion.

The top 10 percent (13 million returns), making above $103,000, paid 70 percent of all income taxes received. The top 25 percent, making above $62,000, paid 86 percent.

The President is right. There needs to be a balance and the bottom 75 percent need to pay their fair share or qit getting checks from the government that the top 25 percent paid for.

Obama wants 12 million illegal immigrants to become citizens to vote Democratic. He intends to steal more from the 1.3 million who are paying most of the income taxes to legalize 12 million to vote for him. What if the 13 million leave and leave it to the remaining 120 million?

If you pay taxes, you better fear the DEMOCRATS Somebody’s got to pay for them 12 million immigrants. They will join the 40 million paying nothing.

Nero in the White House

Nero in the White House
Posted: August 08, 2011

? 2011
Three significant historical events have been eclipsed by Obama: 1) Jimmy Carter will no longer be looked upon as the worst president in American history; 2) Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton will no longer be recognized as the greatest liars in presidential history; 3) Clinton's stain on Monica's dress, and what that did to the White House in general and the office of the president specifically, will forever pale in comparison to the stain and stench of Obama.

I need not spend much time on the failure of Obama as president. His tenure has been a failure on every measurable level. So much so, in fact, that some of the staunchest, most respected liberal Democrats and Democratic supporters have not only openly criticized him ? some even more harshly than this essayist ? but they have called for him to step down.

Richard Nixon's words "I am not a crook," punctuated with his involvement in Watergate, and Bill Clinton's finger-wagging as he told one of the most pathetic lies in presidential history, in the aftermath of Obama, will be viewed as mere prevarications.
Mr. Nixon and Clinton lied to save their backsides. Although, I would argue there are no plausible explanations for doing what they did, I could entertain arguments pursuant to understanding their rationales for lying. But in the case of Obama, he lies because he is a liar. He doesn't only lie to cover his misdeeds ? he lies to get his way. He lies to belittle others and to make himself look presentable at their expense. He lies about his faith, his associations, his mother, his father and his wife. He lies and bullies to keep his background secret. His lying is congenital and compounded by socio-psychological factors of his life.

Never in my life, inside or outside of politics, have I witnessed such dishonesty in a political leader. He is the most mendacious political figure I have ever witnessed. Even by the low standards of his presidential predecessors, his narcissistic, contumacious arrogance is unequalled. Using Obama as the bar, Nero would have to be elevated to sainthood.

As the stock markets were crashing, taking with them the remaining lifesaving of untold tens of thousands, Obama was hosting his own birthday celebration, which was an event of Epicurean splendidness. The shamelessness of the event was that it was not a state dinner to welcome foreign dignitaries, nor was it to honor an American accomplishment ? it was to honor the Pharaoh, Barack Hussein Obama. The event's sole purpose was for the Pharaoh to have his loyal subjects swill wine, indulge in gluttony and behavior unfit to take place on the property of taxpayers, as they suffer. It was of a magnitude comparable to that of Tyco CEO Dennis Kozlowski's $2 million birthday extravaganza for its pure lack of respect for the people.

Permit me to digress momentarily. The U.S. Capitol and the White House were built with the intent of bringing awe and respect to America and her people. They were also built with the intent of being the greatest of equalizers. I can tell you, having personally been to both, there is a moment of awe and humility associated with being in the presence of the history of those buildings. They are to be honored and inscribed into our national psyche, not treated as a Saturday night house party at Chicago 's Cabrini-Green.
The people of America own that home Obama and his wife continue to debase with their pan-ghetto behavior. It is clear that Obama and family view themselves as royalty, but they're not. They are employees of "we the people," who are suffering because of his failed policies. What message does this behavior send to those who today are suffering as never before?

What message does it send to all Americans who are struggling? Has anyone stopped to think what the stock market downturn forebodes for those 80 million baby boomers who will be retiring in the next period of years? Is there a snowball's chance in the Sahara that every news program on the air would applaud this behavior if it were George W. Bush? To that point, do you remember the media thrashing Bush took for having a barbecue at the White House?

Like Nero ? who was only slightly less debaucherous than Caligula ? with wine on his lips Obama treated "we the people" the way Caligula treated those over whom he lorded.

Many in America wanted to be proud when the first person of color was elected president, but instead, they have been witness to a congenital liar, a woman who has been ashamed of America her entire life, failed policies, intimidation and a commonality hitherto not witnessed in political leaders. He and his wife view their life at our expense as an entitlement ? while America 's people go homeless, hungry and unemployed.
